Fashion Therapy
Whether you’re running through the rain in Perth or languishing in Sydney lockdown, a thorough wardrobe refresh has the power to turn around the day.
Look for pieces that mix and match with ease and can pull double duty for work and play. This season, the collections provided plenty of wardrobe inspiration for how we want to live right now. Here are Elizabeth Clarke’s tips for adding a little stylish sunshine to your day.
BAG LADY
"Investing in my wardrobe means more than just classic shapes; it also means next level accessories that will endure a busy modern life. Some days call for a really big bag. This version by Marni is soft to the touch but robust enough to hold all the essentials. I’m in love with its green marbled handle that meshes nicely with Isabel Marant’s sage jeans. Just add chunky sneakers and a sweater to tie it all together."
BOX TICKERS
"Right now, my front-of-closet real estate is reserved for items that give me comfort and joy—like this super soft Marni cashmere sweater and tie-dye Ulla Johnson skirt (check out the undulating hemline). I’m a big sweater person, and I love a skirt, so this pairing could hardly be more potent. I teamed with Marni’s glittering retro-style sandals (I couldn’t resist), but given it’s cold out there, just add a boot.”
TIE-DYE-TO-DIE-FOR
"Right now, you need a print and this jacket is IT. Apart from its delicious tie-dye print, it features a lovely puffy look thanks to the Italian technique of trapunto stitching. It’s the ideal weight for now and a cinch to up style. I’ll be wearing it with anything high-waisted, tossed over a dress for lunch, or with jeans and a tee. Easy and chic."
