Meet Perth public relations specialist Emmi Masten. Here, she showcases the new season’s prettiest dresses, freshest prints and coolest accessories at Cottesloe hotspot Indigo Oscar.
What is your greatest extravagance?
I am a sucker for a lavish gown. My wardrobe is full of bright, exuberant frocks. People sometimes say, why splash out on a print you may only wear once? There is a new movement for recycling outfits, and I am all for it.
If you were a dish, what would you be?
A plate of one million oysters. I am utterly obsessed with them.
How do you deal with a bad hair day?
Currently, I have curtain bangs, so I can look a bit like David Bowie if I'm having a bad hair day. Usually, a cap or dry shampoo does the trick.
What are your must-buys for summer?
I love Dries Van Noten's pink and red floral prints. They’re showstoppers!

Your signature look?
I like to think I build my wardrobe mainly with forever statement pieces.
For years I mainly wore black, but for a while, it has been all about colour and texture for me. I have a rather terrible online shopping addiction and find smaller unknown international designers and vintage pieces. I would say my signature look would have to be a high-neck dress in a fun print.

What is always sitting on your desk at work?
A pink Frank Green water bottle and Kosas lip balm.
Your favourite series or podcast and why?
All of Anthony Bourdain's series. We have watched them countless times; his cultural exploration and raw form of storytelling have definitely left an impact on me.
"It" vernacular?
It takes two to tango!
Your cure for jet lag?
Chamomile tea, red wine and white noise. Although I recently tried all three, and it didn't work!
When do you feel most powerful?
Right after a run around the river.
What keeps you up at night?
Usually my children!
Most used emoji?
The 'Face with Tears of Joy', although according to Gen Z, it's very uncool.
What music are you listening to?
Radiohead after seeing string quartet Aquila perform a tribute to them at the Perth Town Hall last month.
Most lusted for accessory?
Anything Marni! I have wanted a pair of Fussbett sandals for ages and can't decide which colour. It's a timeless staple flat for everyday running around.
What is your idea of perfect happiness?
My husband's crab linguini and a glass of Chablis before sitting down to watch a great TV series.
