This month, take your style cue from our favourite small-screen stars.  Below, we've selected two very different stylish leading ladies from three shows and debunked their looks making them easy to emulate.

THE WHITE LOTUS - SICILY

The second season of The White Lotus follows a group of picture-perfect travellers staying in the beautiful, eponymous resort in Sicily. While Jennifer Coolidge had us transfixed, it was Harper and Portia’s style that had everyone talking.

HARPER

With a wardrobe that changes in style throughout the season, Harper (Aubrey Plaza) is a lesson in cool insouciance. Dressing in crisp stripes and neutral colours in the simplest of silhouettes, her looks are a modern take on Audrey Hepburn’s in Roman Holiday. Look for chic shapes devoid of frills, frou frou and brand logos for Harper’s take on quiet, understated luxury.

PORTIA

Her eclectic fashion choices and sartorial mishmash have caused heated online debate. Part Gen-Z, part millennial nostalgia, Portia (Haley Lu Richardson) has an unfaltering sense of personal style. At the beck and call of her caftan-wearing boss, Tanya McQuoid (Jennifer Coolidge), Portia finds light relief in fashion with her mix of straw hats, chaotic prints and quirky accessories.

EMILY IN PARIS

After landing her dream joy in Paris, Chicago marketing exec and it-girl Emily Cooper embraces her chic new life while juggling work, friends, cocktails and romance. She also navigates two stylish bosses - let the fashion wars begin.

SYLVIE

The allure of the French woman, with her unshakeable poise and pulled-together presence, seems unattainable if only because it appears so effortless. Case in point, Sylvie Grateau (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu), the fabulous CMO of Savoir and Emily’s Paris-based boss.  For Sylvie, it’s all sharp lines and strong silhouettes, yet she wears them in a way that exudes cool and sexy - never boring or brash. Our biggest takeaway? Sylvie sticks to the old school rule of only showing her chest or legs at one time – never both.

MADELINE

Finally, a new blueprint for office power dressing! Emily’s American boss, Madeline (Kate Walsh), is obsessed with big, bold, saturated colours and giant gold jewellery that reflect this season’s obsession with maximus chic and highlight the need for standout statement separates. Make like Madeline and don't ever attempt to match anything – just clash and layer with wild abandon.

GLASS ONION: A KNIVES OUT MYSTERY

A deliciously twisty and stylish riff on the classic British-style murder mystery, this must-watch boasts a fabulous location and a group of suspects with motive, opportunity and wardrobes to-die-for.

BIRDIE

Birdie’s
uber-glamourous style was inspired by actress Kate Hudson's mother, Goldie Hawn. A melee of Grecian glitz and big, bold prints in vibrant colour, Birdie’s wardrobe is the ultimate in holiday wear.  Fashion is about experimenting and having fun. It is also about feeling confident enough to throw all the rules out of the window. If you are new to prints and prefer to ease into them, opt for one with a water-coloured look by a designer like Maria Cher. It still packs a punch but is softer than a graphic pattern. Pull out one or two colours from the print and choose accessories in those shades for effortless styling.

ANDI

Played by real-life style icon Janelle Monáe, Andi is a super stylish tech entrepreneur with a penchant for the dramatic – a black-and-white palette and strong styling for maximum impact. Brutally direct and impossibly chic, sure, but ultimately it is a look that lets the wearer's personality shine through. So you wear the clothes —they don't wear you. The perfect combination of effortless sophistication, it's a look that can be dialled up and down when styled with different accessories, shoes, bags or a bold lip. Stock up your wardrobe with the essentials and wear it your way.
